The Path Here
I grew up in the trades. My parents owned a building materials company, and I was on job sites by 14, learning how things get built from the ground up.
After studying Economics at Grand Valley State, I spent a decade in corporate sales, managing accounts across multiple states and leading teams. That experience taught me how to run a business, communicate with clients, and deliver on commitments.
But the entire time, I was rehabbing houses on the side. Nights, weekends, every chance I got. Construction was always the work I came back to.
When the opportunity came to go full-time, I took it. SW Construction has been my sole focus ever since.
Why I Do This
I didn't start this company to be the biggest contractor in Michigan. I started it because I wanted to build something I could be proud of and to have 100% control over the product I deliver.
There are great contractors out there. I'm not claiming to do one thing that nobody else does. What makes working with me different is the experience. I want every client to feel like a partner, not just a customer. The projects I take on aren't cheap, and I want you to feel that every dollar was worth it.
Nothing beats seeing something I built come to life. A kitchen that transforms how a family lives. A deck that becomes everyone's favorite spot. An addition that finally gives you the space you need. That's why I do this.

What I Don't Do
I focus on projects that transform spaces, not quick fixes.
If you need a light fixture swapped, a faucet replaced, or your gutters cleaned, I'll happily refer you to a great handyman. That's not what we do.
Our sweet spot is complete remodels, additions, and custom builds. Kitchen transformations. Basement finishes. Second-story additions. In-law suites. Custom decks that become the centerpiece of your backyard.

The Vision
5 years from now
I want to expand with qualified staff who share my standards so we can take on more projects without sacrificing quality. I'll be focused on the sales and client side, making sure every homeowner gets the same experience I deliver today.
Dream project
Develop a small subdivision with homes designed for how families actually live now. Multi-generational, aging in place, flexible spaces that adapt over time. I have a vision for what that looks like, and someday I'm going to build it.
Legacy
When someone lists their home for sale years from now, I want them to say “this is an SW Construction home” and have that mean something. I want my work to add value long after I'm done.
Proudest Work
The Historical Deck
One of my favorite projects was a deck for a historic home. I had a vision for how it should look, something that felt like it had always been there, not slapped on as an afterthought. When it was done, it matched the house perfectly. That's the kind of work I live for.
My First Flip
The first house I rehabbed and resold was a turning point. It proved to myself that I could do this. Take something rough, see the potential, and bring it to life. That project gave me the confidence to eventually go full-time.
